Lead Roofing Panels

Specifications and Performance
Lead sheet for roofing is a rolled product.
Lead Roofing sheets should conform to ASTM Specification: B-749-97, Chemical Copper Lead (UNS #L51121). This grade is intended for applications requiring corrosion protection and formability. It is the consistency of lead used for roofing over the ages that allows one to predict its long-term performance with confidence. To achieve this superior life, however, lead sheet must be specified and installed correctly according to American Eagle Roofing Systems, Inc. specifications.
Lead sheet for sloped roofing should not exceed 12 square feet per panel, and should weigh a minimum 4-pounds per square foot. Lead sheet for flat roofs should weigh a minimum of 6 or 8-pounds per square foot, depending upon installation and service conditions. Flashing should weigh at least 4-pounds per square foot, and should be installed in strips no longer than 4.5 feet by 15 inches in width. Laps necessary for joints between flashing sheets are determined by exposure. Minimum overlap is 4 inches, and in areas of high winds and rain, 6 inches is recommended
